National Day Parade through
the eyes of a child:
My 5 year old's drawing of the 25th March...
With Greece's trials and tribulations over the last few years it becomes increasingly important
for all of us in the Global Greek World to fight for the values and ideals passed down to us and for our
future as Hellenes.
Let's teach our children to love their homeland.
Ζήτω η Ελλάδα,
Ζήτω η Κύπρος,
Ζήτω ο Ελληνισμός!
Χρόνια Πολλά Βαγγελία και Βαγγέλη!
Xronia Polla Evangelia and Evangelos!
25th March - Independence Day
The celebrations as shown in Greece's iconic primary school reading book
25th March around the World in pictures
With young people like these and their fighting spirit the future looks promising for our GlobalGreeks and Hellenism!

Just to clarify after some totally unacceptable behaviour, for a couple of years, strict security was enforced at the parades meaning that it was 'by invitation only' thus restricting attendance
Such a shame, part of the fun was going down with
family and friends
and enjoying the day and the place...
asking the policeman to move a
little to the left or right
so we could have a better view, without
risking arrest...
Thankfully this has changed now and people can go and enjoy.

Irini said this about the photo:
'This is a picture from a suburb parade in Athens. I could not help seeing a metaphor in this picture! Although it seems like a sad picture, I find it quite optimistic! The boy did march proudly despite his arm fracture! Greece will go on!!'
