FIRST ANNUAL HHF LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS. Honouring Justice Andromache Karakatsanis – the first Supreme Court of Canada Justice of Hellenic heritage and the late, Dr. Dimitrios Oreopoulos – famed scientist, physician and humanitarian.

The Hellenic Heritage Foundation (est. 1996), a Toronto based charitable organization dedicated to the preservation, promotion and advancement of Hellenic education, culture and heritage in Canadian society, will be hosting its 16th Anniversary Fundraising Gala, A Night in Plaka, on Friday, June 1st at the Paramount Event and Conference Centre in Woodbridge, Ontario. http://www.hhf.ca/index.shtml.
The annual Gala is expected to attract more than 700 guests consisting of distinguished members, local entrepreneurs, international business owners, honoured dignitaries and community leaders.
Through its philanthropic efforts and as a proud member of Imagine Canada, the HHF has grown to become a highly respected and professionally managed Foundation that has earned a reputation for producing spectacular events and consistently meeting its charitable goals. Having donated over $5 million to date towards charitable organizations and associations that meet and reflect its mandate, the purpose of the gala is to celebrate its achievements as well as raise money for the organization’s large-scale charitable projects.
This year’s Annual Gala is particularly special as the Foundation recognizes the accomplishments of two outstanding Canadians of Hellenic descent with the first annual HHF Lifetime Achievement Awards. The reception begins at 7 pm featuring an array of themed cocktails and grilled appetizers. The dinner begins at 8 pm and is accompanied with a live performance from world renowned Greek superstar “Glykeria”.
