Once the PSI (Public Sector Involvement) also known as haircut, and the details of the 2nd Memorandum and Bailout agreements have been finalised, Greece will be going to National Elections, something it really doesn't need right now, but is essential to ensure that Democracy reigns in the land where it was born...
Thought we would share with all our readers this gem of an ABC of phrases compiled by Christos Zervas for the Greek daily newspaper Eleftherotypia in 2009, just before the last elections.
This ABC consists of phrases that have been used by Greece's political leaders over the years - from Konstantine Karamanlis I to George Papandreou II - during their election campaigns or terms. Phrases that have become a part of the national political thesaurus as positive or negative, they became synonymous with the creator's time in power.
Apologies to those who cannot read Greek but we've left them in their original form as any attempt to put them into English will totally change them - a case of being lost in translation.
